The Coptic Orthodox Church has been present in Egypt since 60 A.D., established after Saint Mark the Apostle arrived to preach Christianity. As one of the oldest Christian churches in the world, we preserve the authentic apostolic faith.
Our name "Coptic" derives from the Greek word for Egypt, while "Orthodox" means "straight glorification" - we worship God according to the teachings of Christ, the preaching of the Apostles, and the preservation of the Church Fathers.
